The team currently play their home games in the stadium on the grounds of Club Roma, a multi-purpose sports and recreation in the city of St. Catharines, Ontario, 13 miles from the US/Canadian border at Niagara Falls . The team's colors are dark red and white, mimicking those of the famous Italian club AS Roma.

The team played its first season in 1978 in the National Soccer League (NSL), later re-named the (CNSL, with the acceptance of the Winnipeg Fury in 1993. From their formation through to 1994 they was known as (the) St. Catharines Roma. In 1995 they underwent restructuring and changed their name to St. Catharines Wolves. 1996 saw further changes and a change name to St. Catharines Roma Wolves, and the following summer was their last in the dissolved NSL. The club next played from 1998 through 2005 in the Canadian Professional Soccer League, which in 2006 was renamed the Canadian Soccer League. They continue to play in the CSL.
